Week7, By: Khadejah Blair and bianca Cobb

LAST WEEK, our team accomplished the following:

  • We went to the recording studio and worked on our pieces to make them as good as we could, this allowed us to practice initiative and self-direction employability skills.
  • We wrote scripts on what to say to the directors of the businesses we will be contacting, this allowed us to practice communication and collaboration employability skills.
  • We wrote letters to the businesses informing and inviting them to the SAFE & SOUND BLOCK PARTY, this allowed us to practice communication and collaboration employability skills.
  • We learned how to perform verbally and physically, this allowed us to practice preparedness skills.
  • We sat with our career coaches for the last time and went over everything from the previous weeks, this allowed us to practice professionalism employability skills.

THIS WEEK, our team is going to accomplish the following:

  • We will be reaching out to the different businesses in the 53204 zip code to make them aware of the 1st Annual SAFE & SOUND BLOCK PARTY, this will allow us to practice communication and collaboration employability skills.
  • We will be working on the P.O.E.T.I.C CD cover, this will allow us to practice creativity and innovation employability skills.
  • We'll be passing out the flyers for the block party in the 53204 zip code and in our neighborhoods, this will allow us to practice social and cross-cultural employability skills.
  • We'll also be memorizing our pieces and practicing our performances, this will allow us to practice preparedness and initiative and self-direction skills.

PERSONAL FEEDBACK:

It was a good experience being in the recording studio for the first time. Recording was a lot easier than I expected. Going in the booth without your piece was a little challenging but after the first couple tries it was a breeze. The whole recording experience was nice and it was something new to me. Everyone in the group recorded 3 pieces and hopefully they all make it to the CD. Other than that everything was great.
